EL AL Fleet – Historic – Boeing 757s

In each fleet list ‘MSN’ refers to the Manufacturer’s Serial Number, and ‘LN’ refers to the Line Number.

Copyright to each photo in the fleet lists belongs to the respective photographers noted. When a photographer’s name is followed by a parenthetical reference, that refers to the applicable license to publish. All such licensed photos are taken from the Wikimedia Commons website ‘Aircraft registered in Israel’ and have been resized for purposes of this site. The reference ‘CC-BY-SA’ refers to a ‘Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike’ license, and the number following it refers to the version of such license.

757-258 (ET). MSN 27622/LN 245. Rolled out 18 Feb 97. First flight 6 Mar 97. Delivered to International Lease Finance Corp (ILFC) and leased to EL AL and registered 4X-EBI, 24 Mar 97. Arrived Tel Aviv 26 Mar 97 via London (Stansted). Sub-leased to Israir, 5 Jul 02. Returned to ILFC, Mar 2007.

757-258. MSN 23917/LN 152. Ordered 1 Oct 86. Rolled out  23 Oct 87. First flight 6 Nov 87. Delivered to EL AL 25 Nov 87 as 4X-EBL. Fleet Number 501.  At times leased to Arkia. Sold to Boeing Aircraft Holding Co 23 May 00 and leased back. Returned to BAHC 12 Jan 01.

757-258. MSN 23918/LN 156. Ordered 1 Oct 86. Rolled out 8 Nov 87. First flight 4 Dec 87. Delivered to EL AL 17 Dec 87, Fleet Number 502. At times leased to Arkia, then leased to Israir, 25 Mar 01-early 2007. Leased to EL AL’s Sun d’Or affiliate, Apr 2007.  Withdrawn from use, 11 Nov 11. Stored at Gary-Chicago International Airport, 15 Dec 11. and broken up there in 2012.

757-236 (ET). MSN 24120/LN 174. Rolled out 26 Mar 88. First flight 19 Apr 88. Delivered to Air Europe as G-BOHC, 4 May 88. Subsesquently operated by Air Europa, then acquired by British Airways (as G-BPEF). Leased to EL AL and re-registered 4X-EBO, 15 Apr 03; operated by EL AL’s affiliate Sun d’Or. Returned to Haifa LLC and sold to FedEx and re-registered N915FD, 27 Feb 07.

Operated by EL AL’s affiliate Sun d’Or starting Apr 2009. Withdrawn from use 6 May 11. Sold to FedEx for cargo use, Sep 2011, and registered N964D.

Operated first EL AL trans-Atlantic service by a 757, 22 May 91, Tel Aviv-Manchester-New York (JFK).  Leased by EL AL to Sun d’Or Jul 2002 – Mar 2004 and Oct 2007 – Feb 2012. Stored at Tupelo Regional Airport, Mississippi, 22 Feb 12 – 11 Dec 12. Sold to FedEx and registered N68084, Dec 2012, then stored at Vacaville, California and used for parts.

First full commercial service, Tel Aviv-Paris, 18 Mar 93. Withdrawn from use 27 Nov 12. Stored at Phoenix Goodyear Airport, Arizona, 25 Jan 13 and broken up in June 2014.

Delivered to EL AL and registered 4X-EBV, 5 May 93, Fleet No 507. Operated last EL AL 757 service, TLV-Barcelona-TLV, 26 Nov 12 and then withdrawn from use. Stored at Phoenix Goodyear Airport, Arizona (GYR), 24 Jan 13. Acquired by Aero Turbine and registered N320AT, 23 Apr 13. Broken up at GYR June 2014.

Subsequently also operated by Sterling Airways (as OY-SHI, Britannia Airways (as G-OAHI), Air Europe Italy, Spanair and Martinair Holland. Leased to EL AL and registered 4X-EBY, 18 Feb 04. Operated at times by EL AL’sSun d’Or. Sold to FedEx and re-registered N916FD, 29 Oct 07. Converted to a cargo aircraft, July 2008.
